I was in universal florida just days before it's grand opening in june 1990 and was dying to get on jaws but it was all taped off (including the hanging shark that still had suports up, i have a photo sum were) and now to think it was a completely different ride to now i was standing outside of gutting! wish more videos of it would apear on the net or at least sum photos :'(

I am constantly trying to find more photos and video for the original ride.  There's gotta be someone else out there who can help us!  :)

I was watching my old universal studios souvenir video hosted my john forsythe the other day and near the begining of the video theres some airel shots of the park and when it goes over the jaws ride i noticed it's the original 1990 ride! the gas station is'nt there or the power cable the shark bites in the current ride and u can see the shadows of were the machanical sharks are. Can't believe i've had this video so long and not noticed. I think u tube may have the video if any1 wants to check it out, as i've no idea how to get mine on the computer  ;D

Yeah i've found my pic in front of the hanging shark and i've also found some old universal merchandise so i'l take a few photos of them n try to get them uploaded as soon as i can

There is this great tour/documentary of sorts of the original 1990 USF on Veoh.com. It has high quality video of the original Jaws ride with a view close to the shark. It also has great video of the pre-ride Earthquake and more!

Great job finding this video, been wanting to see more on the original ride for ages. The current ride is far better but it's still great to see some footage of it remains. Just to think if i'd stayed in america for a few more days i may have gotten to ride it  ;D
